LAND ART AND YUCEL DONMEZ

Yucel Donmez Yücel Dönmez graduated from the State Academy of Applied Arts, which he entered with the first place in 1974, and without wasting any time, he put into practice the firsts he would present to the art world. Dönmez, who had made his first Snow painting experiment in 1968, realized his Snow Painting project in Uludağ in 1975 when he found a sponsor, and preserved his title as the first artist to paint snow in the world. He became Turkey's first Land Art artist with this work he named. Yücel Dönmez, who has been known for his contemporary art works since the 70s, started to continue his art works in Chicago, USA in 1980. Dönmez, who has been continuing his art works mainly in Istanbul for the past 14 years, is also known for the contemporary art works he puts in Istanbul metro stations. Yücel Dönmez's 82 square meters under glass work in the Anatolian Justice Palace in Istanbul is located in the main hall of the palace.

 Dönmez, who opened an exhibition at the Junior Museum of the Chicago Art Institute, one of the 3 major contemporary museums in America, in 1978, also performed 12 performances in the museum promoting the tap-based technique he brought to the world of visual arts. He received the title of his own artist. Dönmez's own technique and style, which he introduced from the museum in 1987, began to be used in different versions by many artists around the world in the 90s. Yücel Dönmez also shared the innovations he brought to the visual arts with the new generation of America by making workshops with 70,000 students and 20 thousand parents in various schools in the state of Illinois within the body of the art organization Urban gateways between 1988 and 2001. He received the National Medal of Arts' National Art Medal with his team, including Yücel Dönmez.

PUBLIC SPACE STUDIES Donmez's works are exhibited to millions of people every day with his public art works, 8 paintings of 25 square meters each in Altunizade metro station, 4 works in Taksim Funicular station, 4 digital collage works at Şişhane Kasımpaşa entrance and Yenikapı Aksaray, Kirazlı, Bağcılar, Yakacık , Levent (ceiling of Özdilek AVM metro exit), Anatolian Justice Palace main hall, there are 82 square meters of glass paintings and dozens of other works. Dönmez, who also works in the public sphere in Chicago, is also included in a series of encyclopedias that structure world art history. Yücel Dönmez said, "I stayed in Turkey for my subway studies and moved away from the Chicago art scene. After Corona, I will be in the American art market again with my workshops in Chicago. I left enough of my contemporary art works in my country, and the values ​​of my contemporary art works, which are now the pride of Istanbul, will be understood much better when a real art market emerges in Turkey... does not contribute to its artists. In order for more collectors to acquire my works, I have to keep their prices normal, and my works, which are in sufficient collections in my country, will make both those who have acquired them and me very happy in the future. My advice to those who collect works of art is to examine whether the artist of the works they have acquired has contributed to the visual arts of our country and the world. Because the works of artists who have been able to provide innovation and permanent contribution to art will make a premium in the future. If collectors are investing in art for the future, they must be very careful and very careful in the art market, which is generally created by perception." He explains his view on the matter.
